Occupy ?



With the recent removal of 'Occupy Wall Street' in New York City parks, I wondered how much of the materials removed will occupy our local landfills?

    I did some holiday lighting in front of our home in the village for the first time this year and wonder what the balance is between wanting to be a part of making our street look nice for the community's benefit and buying junk (cheap lights etc.) that will prob. have a life span of just a few years...

  2. Just finished a book called Plastic Ocean. The phenomenon of accumulating plastic since the early 1960s is burying the world. The author suggest FOUR R's in the following order for people to consider when making purchase decisions --> Refuse - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
