"Uncle Gene" and Jason = A Black Walnut Porch Glider

With the help of Uncle Gene's expertise and wood working shop, son Jason and Gene cut out blackwalnut pieces for this very nice porch glider. The black walnut came from a tree taken down and milled in our yard.

Apollo 11 - July 20, 1969

Whow! ... 40 years ago today, I was an American Peace Corps Volunteer in a small village on the Indian Deccan Plateau.

Here in my mud/stone room with a cow dung floor and walls, some of my village friends & co-workers listen to the Apollo 11 moon landing/walk on the radio (Voice of America, Bangkok) and as noted by the newspaper headlines.
